ATLAS / SOLUTION
B2B & membership platforms
Turn the relationships between members, companies and plan entitlements into a manageable product.
The starting problem
Turn the relationships between members, companies and plan entitlements into a manageable product. The same process does not work identically in every organization. We start by reviewing user roles, information flow and existing tools.
The components
Multi-company data model; Plans and entitlements; Manageable subscription state. These components need a shared data source and clear responsibility boundaries. Interface and business rules are checked against the same scenarios.
Separating company accounts from individual users
Permissions designed for a single individual can be insufficient in B2B. A member company, its employees, subscription plan and accessible records are separate concepts. Together we choose which collaborative behaviours are necessary for the first release.
In a partner portal, a company administrator invites colleagues, employees see their permitted actions and the platform operator has limited support privileges. Each role's data access is explicit. Logged support access, account closure and data export belong to the initial design rather than becoming unplanned exceptions.
Public, membership-only and paid content also affect the marketing journey. Visitors should understand what they purchase and see a clear next step instead of silent access errors. The first release focuses on company registration, invitation, authorization and one valuable task. Sector variations follow real business requirements, not duplicated pages.
First-release focus
Completing a frequent journey end to end is more valuable than many half-finished features. We first define entry, permissions, records, editing and error behaviour. Subsequent releases follow observed needs.
How we proceed
Discovery establishes existing data, integration access, content owners and success criteria. The data model, visual experience and acceptance checks then follow the same plan. A similar portfolio item is a starting point, not a substitute for defining your scope.
